The new year saw the start of a new project as our school began to engage with Creative Schools.
Orla McDonagh has been assigned to work with the students and staff of our school, as a Creative Associate, for two academic years.
Orla is a practicing artist working in the midlands in a diverse range of media including painting, drawing, ceramics, textiles and creating with upcycled materials. She designs workshops for the Arts Office, arts centers, the Leader Programme and the ETB.
Orla holds a Masters in Education and post graduate awards in education, literacy, digital design and community education. She also completed a B.A. in Contemporary Art Practices in 2022 and a B.A. in Art History in 2009. Orla was longlisted for the RDS Visual Arts Award 2022.
We feel very lucky to have someone so accomplished, qualified and experienced to guide us as we futher develop arts education within our school.
